B.A.F Shaheen College, Chittagong is the name of a glorious and traditional institute in the field of education of the country. It is an institute directed by the Bangladesh Air Force which is under the rules and regulations of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chittagong and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic Bangladesh. It was establish in 1978 and upgraded to college from the session of 1985-86. In this institute the system of co-education is running from K.G to twelve classes. Besides study the basic desire of this institute is, to build up the students as a learned, honest, healthy, patriot and good citizen by expressing their inherent virtues.
The motto of this college is ‘education, self-control, discipline’. All the activities of this institute are conducted with devotion implement this principle. Besides study, the student’s participations in various extra curriculum activities and discipline, above all these environment and location of the college- all these of this college have made it unique and different from other educational institutions.
In this institute we have efficient and experienced teachers to impart knowledge to the student properly. The teachers advance their lessons within particular time preparing a good lesson plan according to the syllabus implied by the Air Headquarter. Moreover, this institute arranges coaching classes for the examinees of Primary Completion Examination and Junior School Certificate and also has a good arrangement of two Model Tests (at least) for the examinees of SSC and HSC besides coaching.
It also has a good arrangement of extra curricular activities such as debate club (Bangla & English), practice of cultural activities, and library house wall magazine after every four months and an annual college magazine “Shaheen” every year to express the creativity and hidden talent of the students. All these competitive activities make the way easier and smooth to disclose the inherent qualities of the students.
The institute plays a prominent role to make a link with the old and new ideas of knowledge education and culture. We also have an expert committee and a lot of experienced and skilled teachers to inspire the students regarding this matter.
Finally, this institute greets the new comers with a hope of making them honest, good and a man of moral values with a firm belief which is only possible with great effort of all.
